![]() I think all chests are geared for your actual level i think all chests are geared for your actual level - but I know for a fact that the ones you get for area completion and dailies are. I think the magic find affects the magic items you find for their level (use all essences of luck you get - magic find is account-wide so no harm in using them immediately). I think i've seen mobs dropping my level (or near it) as well whenever you get it off them - as i got a lvl 76 blue hammer off a lvl 7 mob as i was exploring my way towards the daily zone. ![]() The ways you can get xp is wonderfully voluminous and if you get chests - i think all chests are geared for your actual level - but I know for a fact that the ones you get for area completion and dailies are. In contrast, my second character was constantly in awesome stuff without having to spend a dime or go back to town as I kept pushing to higher level zones as needed and grabbing weapons and armor from karma vendors at my level when available.Īctually, I think the inconvenience of having the heart vendor stuff often be underleveled to your ACTUAL level is not too bad. My first character didn't really gain from any of them after the first zone. I love the way level scaling and experience works in GW2 and how it allowed me to gain worthwhile experience in an extremely wide band of zones - but the fact that karma vendor gear didn't scale (and world explore rewards) was frequently frustrating. If you progress linearly through zones, you end up overleveled, then the heart vendor stuff is not only not-rare, but also underlevel for you The heart rewards are just fine if you happen to be in a zone near your character level. It doesn't help that the heart rewards are pretty much garbage. Started to take a look around and got ROFLstomped by a lurking huge-ass group (must've been 20+ people - my elementalist didn't even have time to squeak). Captured a temple (was hoping it counted as a 'ruin') with no issue. I did WvW last night for the first time too. But, I guess money farming is better done in Cursed Shore and such. ![]() Apart form having to get TO the zones (in areas I've never been in) for the daily events - i'm not actually seeing them being very good in terms of money. I've done dailies the last couple of days now. Especially like the way the community will help people find Rich Ore for mining (10 Ores in one go, 33% of Daily is complete!), Events for completing, and timer info on World Bosses. I had kind of been aware of them but I didn't realize how good the awards are in terms of loot and XP, so thanks!Īnytime! I think a good half of my XP and gear came from the Dailies, so being able to knock them out in 30-40 minutes is a handy trick. Thanks to Distraktion, I discovered how valuable doing the dailies are. I've only actually partied up with a stranger ONCE and even then it wasn't necessary. I really appreciate how solo-friendly GW2 has been halfway through the journey. Probably just came too close after falling out of RIFT. ![]() I gotta say, after initially bouncing hard off of GW2 (regardless of something possessing me to buy it after the beta) it really has its hooks in me now. and in the meantime all of my personal bank overflow is in the guild bank. I would just buy the couple I really have my eye on, but I completely broke my bank buying up crafting supplies on the TP because I was outleveling my proficiency.Īlong the way, I simultaneously decided it would be nice to try cooking (I have gathered a ton of ingredients) and also totally filled my personal bank storage, so I considered solving both problems with gems, but holy crap the cash for gems pricing is steeper than I expected. Right now I'm pushing hard to unlock a few traits. Since I really started playing in earnest a couple of weeks ago, I've hit the mid-40s by fully exploring just three zones (and Divinity's Reach) and doing the personal quests. In fact I usually end up over-leveled quite a bit by the time I complete the zone, which I guess at least leaves me with a lot of junk items to salvage. I've been doing just fine by fully exploring zones. ![]()
